Recorded and produced by Peter Prautzsch at Pratt-Institute Brooklyn, New York. Shift is a audio-video installation based on the ideas of timelessness. As put on hold, slight movements and impressions of everyday life turn into almost static images, shifting back and forth, looping and revealing the aesthetics of time passing by. The video is part of the media art exhibition at 00130 Gallery in Helsinki, Finland. The film has also been selected for the ‘Slowtime 2007 – Quicktime as an artistic medium’ streamin media exhibition which is part of the Nmartproject including the ‘Digital Media Festival & Symposion’ at Valencia, 2008 as well as the ‘AmbiEnt Festival’ 2008 in Brescia, Italy. Additional screenings at Freewaves Festivl, the 11th Biennial Film, Video & New Media Arts Festival in Los Angeles and Simultan04 Video & Media Arts Festival in Timisoara, Romania.

The video installation was part of the Medienrolle Exhibition 2007 at Bauhaus-University, Weimar and the Filmfest Dresden 2007. Short synopsis: Now that fear dominates the current perception of public space, surveillance constantly creates new narrative structures, re-shaping the true image, blending in-between the things we’ve seen and our ideas of the invisible.

Recorded and produced by Peter Prautzsch. The short video focuses on the impossibility of capturing the full aesthetics of body movements through photographic technology. The images constantly slides off, skips between the moments, leaving us only fragments of physical gestures. Produced by Peter Prautzsch at Pratt-Institute Brooklyn, New York as part of the Daniel Scheuer class on contemporary photography. In 2008 the shortfilm was selected for the Hoerspiel Art.mix Podcast at Bayern2, curated by Petra Löffler (University Regensburg). It was also part of the Simultan04, Video & Media Arts Festival 2008 in Timisoara, Romania, the Digital Arts Festival, Belo Horizonte, Brazil and a gallery screening at Duo Multicultural Arts Center, New York in 2009.

Frozen Elephants Music Documentary. 2007, 14 min

The film features the Frozen Elephants netlabel showcase at Bullets, Tokyo in November 2006 including various artists of the Frozenelephants network such as Miwa-Momo-Hojo with Yuichi Nagao, Yusuke Kamijima, Moritz fehr w/ Fumiko Kobayashi, Akihiko Taniguchi and Peter Prautzsch. This concert-project has been financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD through a research scholarship.
