The Qwartz Electronic Music Awards are an anual event in Paris presenting contemporary electronic and the digital music scene. The 2009 edition featured Battles, Apparat, Autechre, Phillip Jeck, GAS, Wild Shores among many others. Peter Prautzsch 2007 album ‘Vor der Stadt’ was nominated in the Expertimental/research category. The 3CD release is strictly promotional.

In the heyday of IDM, the Cottage Industries series by Neo Ouija was an indispensible guide to the varied terrain of electronica and electro, so it’s lovely to see the label back under new management and with a new installment with it’s finger on the pulse of current styles. This compilation has been compiled by my (Deer) friend Martin Hirsch featuring Move D, Benjamin Brunn, Kangding Ray, Deer, NQ etc. and a new track by Palac. Once again the french netlabel Tsuku Boshi gathered its artists and friends to release the anual free “L’advent” compilation. The 2007 collection includes new works by Rainier Lericolais, Tsone, Kim Myhr with Sebastien Roux, Pau Torres, Cubicle and many more. Peter Prautzsch (as Palac) is featured with the new edit of the “Kind Things Sing” track.

As follow-up the 2007 album ‘Purple Skies’ by german electronica artists NQ, Peter Prautzsch has hosted the collection of remixes. The release features various international artists from Japan, Italy, UK, Finland, Germany such as AUS, E.Stonji, El Fog, Deer and Spyritual etc. reworking the original album tracks. Peter Prautzsch (as Palac) is featured with “Beyond Windows Field Edit” as the closing track, He also designed the cover artwork.

The ‘Mirco’ Magazine has provided this special and rather limited CD/LP release. The Edition 24 was curated by Manuela Klaut and deals with Transmission Arts, especially with the Experimental Radio Project at Bauhaus-University, Weimar featuring texts by Ralf Homann, Mareike Maage, Ulrike Ebenbeck as well as tracks by Marlow & Comixx, Friedrich & Mirco Kubein, Norman Hecht etc. Peter Prautzsch (as Palac) is featured with the “März wie April” as the closing track. Edition 24 is sold out by now.

The 2nd Compilation Release by the Creative Commonse Project Frozen Elephants Music gathers 13 international artists merging improvised music with unique digital compositions. The CD compilation was curated by Peter Prautzsch and connects to performance nights at both Tokyo, Japan and Berlin. The compilation includes Akihiko Taniguchi (Japan) Pau Torres (Spain), Christopher Brown (United States), Mike Hansen (Canada), Derek Holzer (Berlin), Miwa Momo Hojo with Yuichi Nagao (Japan) etc. Peter Prautzsch is featured with “Chord Architechture”. The CD edition is limited to 500 copies.

Soundlab is an initiative and the space for sonic art in the framework of the ‘New Media Art Project’ in Cologne. As ’Soundlab Channel’, it was launched as a corporate part of the [r][r][f]200x-xp project on occasion of its particiaption in ‘Biennale of Electronic Art’ Perth, Australia in 2004. Edition IV of Soundlab ‘Memoryspaces’ was launched online in October 2006. The collection has been part of the media art exhibition ‘Selfportrait, a show for bethlehem, a show for peace’ at Officyna Art Space in Szczecin, Poland and Contemporary Art Museum Rosari, Argentina. The selection includes works by Martin John Callanan, HP Stonji, N.N.Aldrich & Zach Poff, Jacob Whittaker etc. Peter Prautzsch is featured with a composition entitled “Of Salt & Water”.

1st release by the Creative Commonse Projetc and netlabel Frozen Elephants Music hosted by Moritz Fehr and Peter Prautzsch. The compilation aims to simply start an ongoing presentation of compositions from this wide field, presenting individual artist personalities and their work, considering the artistic process and its manifestation. For ‘The Map is not the Territory’ the netlabel has gathered 11 pieces by artists from UK, France, Sweden, Ireland, Germany, United States and Japan. The collection includes minimal, computer-based aesthetics, sensitive undulations of sound, natural reverberations, organic structures and fragile sonic architecture, featuring Seltsam & Strahler, Eric Bollman, Lars Nagler aka Prism, Hulk, Tisane etc. Peter Prautzsch is featured with a composition entitled “Hello”.

Soundlab is an initiative and the space for sonic art in the framework of the ‘New Media Art Project’ in Cologne. As ’Soundlab Channel’, it was launched as a corporate part of the [r][r][f]200x-xp project on occasion of its particiaption in ‘Biennale of Electronic Art’ Perth, Australia in 2004. Soundlab Edition 2 was launched on occasion of the solo show at CAVE Gallery, Bethlehem, Palestine featuring 46 artists including Abinadi Meza, Alexander Kharkovsky, Benjamin B. Kinsley, Hervé Constan, Oren Ben Yosef etc. Peter Prautzsch is featured with a track entitled “Waldecke”.
